What we do not keep
We never store what you encode. Not the text, not the URL, not a hash of either. There is no database column for it and no log line that contains it. A hash would be no better: a hash of a WiFi password is one lookup table away from the password.
We do not store your IP address. The only place it appears is an in-memory rate-limit counter, as a salted hash that expires within sixty seconds and is never written to disk.
No cookies. No analytics. No third-party scripts. No tracking pixels.
What we do record
When you download a code — not when you preview one — we save a row describing its shape: the file format, the physical size, the error-correction level, the module count, which colour and shape you chose, how many bytes the content was, and a one-word category such as “url” or “wifi”. That is the whole row. It tells us whether anyone uses the product and which options matter; it cannot tell us, or anyone else, what your code says.
Fonts and hosting
Fonts are served from our own servers, not from Google’s — your browser makes no request to a third party when you load this page.
scanbam runs on a server rented from Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, in their Nuremberg data centre. Hetzner acts as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR. The server is in Germany, and serving this site involves no transfer of personal data outside the EU.
We keep no web-server access log, so your IP address is not written to disk at any point in answering your request.
Controller and your rights
The controller under Art. 4 (7) GDPR is:
Micro-SaaS Solutions
Malte Hoffmann
Am Salzstadel 13
83022 Rosenheim, Germany
For any request about your data, write to info@scanbam.com.
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection under Art. 15–21 GDPR, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority. Ours is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
